About Jin Jin

Jin Jin (aka Janée Bennett) boasts a more interesting & diverse catalogue than the average Songwriting starlet. Whether she’s perfecting a melody on one of her own productions or creating a masterpiece for one of the many co-writes to land in her inbox, Jin Jin has now worked with some of the industry’s brightest stars

Having discovered the five times #1 artist Jess Glynne whilst hosting a song-writing masterclass at Jess’s college, Jin Jin alongside producer Bless Beats, set about writing the singer’s debut album. Working on tracks such as ‘Home’ before Jess successfully signed to Atlantic Records.  Their relationship in the studio has left them in demand across the musical world. Jin Jin later penned Jess’ first official single release ‘Right Here’ (UK No. 6), going on to further success with singles ‘Real Love’ (UK No. 2) ‘Hold My Hand’ and ‘Not Letting Go’ featuring Tinie Tempah which topped the UK charts.

Known previously for her work in the UK grime scene with Wiley and Roll Deep, she’s stretching her wings and co-writing with a host of international producers such as Babyface, Toby Gad, Chad Hugo, Fraser T Smith, Benny Blanco and Raphael Saadiq as well as artists Little Mix, Sean Paul, Party Next Door, Clean Bandit, David Guetta, Travis Scott, Krishane & Melissa Steele.

A multi-platinum song-writer for other artists she’s also an artist in her own right, stoking the sonic fires with a quirky take on the electro-rap mash with tracks like ‘Broken’, ‘Fire Me Up’ and ‘Cashpoint Drama’ ft Mikill Pane

And it doesn’t stop there. Recently setting up her own publishing company Raggamuffin Music, in conjunction with Bless Beats and Bucks, she’s focusing on developing the stars of the future. First act to launch, Dom Mcallister, is already getting national radio play with his first release.

Working in music had been a long held dream. As a child the seeds of her ambitions were sown whilst hanging out in her Granddad’s reggae music record shop. Drawn to the ancestral sounds of Jamaica and Antigua, the songs of Isaac Hayes and Chaka Demus & Pliers in particular inspired her. “It was hearing the reggae re-workings of pop songs that really got me into song-writing,” she explains. Nowadays Prince, Giggs, Robyn, classic Britney Spears, Oasis, David Bowie, The Marbles, and current favourite Buraka Som Sistema rock the playlist.

Having also tried her hand at musicals as a youngster, she soon embraced anything to do with the business; stints in theatre, commercials and even a film ensued. To get herself through a BA Honours Degree in Music Industry Management Jin Jin even took to the catwalk, walking for DKNY in Milan, Vivienne Westwood and Agent Provocateur. And while she may have left the catwalk behind, her love of all things style related remains strong.

Now signed to Universal Publishing for her own work, she continues to collaborate with fresh artists in the UK and beyond such as Sigala, Fuse ODG, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, Raye (Polydor), The Manor (Parlophone) and Sweden’s Elliphant.

Her impressive writing success and A&R skills have put her firmly on the musical map, and she’s “super excited” for what’s to come….
